VENUE
TSB2014 will be held at Mae Fah Luang University, Chiang Rai province. Mae Fah Luang University (MFU) was established as an autonomous public university, under the Royal Charter, in 1998, with generous support from the Royal Thai Government. The university’s campus consists of a large complex of modern, state-of-the-art buildings, spanning more than 800 hectares located in a spectacular setting of mountains and trees.

The coach ride from Bangkok to Chiang Rai is probably best made overnight since passengers can gain sleep prior to an early morning arrival. There are both air-conditioned bus services recommended, from Bangkok's Northern Bus Terminal (Mochit 2 Bus Terminal) on Kamphaengphet 2 Road. The journey may take approximately 9-11 hours.

There is not yet a direct train service to Chiang Rai. You must take the train to Lampang (9 hrs. from Bangkok) or Chiang Mai (11 hrs.) and then travel by bus to Chiang Rai. (2.30 hrs. from Lampang and 3 hrs. from Chiang Mai)

Chiang Rai is 182 kilometers north of Chiang Mai. Air conditioned buses leave 12 times daily from Chiang Mai Arcade Bus Terminal to Chiang Rai. Some buses continue to Mae Sai and Chiang Saen. |
